Environmental policy

Rutland is a very special rural county so here at Rutland Luxury Lodges we are constantly aiming to reduce our carbon foot print.

Energy
All of our heating for the lodges, swimming pool and touring site is generated by our own biomass boiler.

We have a 50 kW solar power unit to generate greener electricity.

We use rainwater harvesting for use in toilets and to water the gardens of the lodges.

All the lodges are individually heated by underfloor heating: using a thermostatic controller.

We have used low energy LED lights where appropriate in all lodges.

Each lodge is well insulated and has double glazing throughout.

Recycling
We have always used local companies to recycle as much as we can; we ask all guests if possible to separate materials ready for recycling.

Transport
We are very lucky to be able to access the national cycle path and many other foot paths straight from the site; we therefore encourage all guests, where possible, to explore the surroundings by bike or by foot rather than by car.

Gardens
Each lodge garden has been specially designed to encourage as many different species of wildlife to the garden; we only use our harvest rainwater to water the gardens, when needed.

Swimming Pool
The swimming pool is a fully heated swimming pool heated purely by our own biomass boiler. The water then used in the swimming pool is later used for the toilet system.
